I'd just like to know. Who of you guys will buy the next standalone in the Warhammer: 40k chapter. Please elaborate on your choice.

Here's the intro:

And a interview:

I liked Dawn of War and it's two expansions so far and I really hope Soulstorm will turn out well. I don't really understand why they chose to add the Sororitas (Sisters of Battle) instead of the long awaited Tyranids... Seems like they're saving for "DoW 2".

I seriously doubt that the balance issues in Online play will be resolved, as it will be even harder to make the game balanced with two additional races on top of it all. Maybe I'll buy it, maybe I won't. I'm definitely waiting for the first reviews before I seriously consider it though.

Well it seems that Ironlore will balance it better because some of there employees are former dow modders and ladder player. I hope it will turn out well.

That intro seems really lame... it gives me bad thoughts about what the game will be like. I shall be buying nonetheless.

The intro does indeed seem disappointing. The Sisters of Battle seem like a hybrid of the Imperial Guard and Space Marines... Nothing too new or interesting.

It looks pretty good, but only because the sisters of battle look cool.

I think I'll hold out until DoW2 though. It's bound to come out, because as Gez said, they haven't added the Tyranids. STILL. When they do, I'll buy the game. But for now, Dark Crusade is enough fun.

Also, you can put this in the Dawn of War section of the forum. :)

I'll probably get it, but I'm not sure if I will be getting it as soon as it is released. Too bad they didn't add the Tyranids. Oh well, at least there is a Tyranid mod that we can play until they are officially added.

I too don't like the intro. It has no real ending which is very disappointing when we take a look at the original DoW intro:

Anyways I am really looking forward to SS, because the Dark Eldar seem really interesting and fun.

Sorry for the bump, but I thought this was the best place to post these videos about two new units of the Sororitas/Sisters of Battle.

    The Confessor:

    The Penitent Engine:

The Confessor seems to be one of the new hero units, while the Penitent Engine seems like a close-combat cybot type vehicle.

I'll be honest, i think the dark eldar suck. They're weak on every tier. They have hardly any units worth a crap against armor and the melee units aren't much better. They look cool, and their economy is neat with the extra boosts and attacks harvesting souls can give you. Seems like something that would benefit the Chaos as well.

Now their armor is pretty cool, how you can load up inf on it. Plus their Daus is sweet with the chicks sitting in front of the dude.

The commander unit is worthless and the little helpers are nothing but cannon fodder. The secondary commander unit is pretty sweet, but some of his abilities are kinda dumb. Good intentions, but the doom speaker thing is pretty much worthless. The battle usually moves away from the speaker the minute you set it down.

    edit

Also, for the Tyranids things. I hear the current game engine and structure wouldn't allow for the tyranids for whatever reason. They wouldn't have worked right unless they remade the game, and since no one rewrites a game they just saved it for the sequel.

Dark Eldar are very fragile, yes. But their close combat units are strong (Wyches, Warp-Beasts). The Warriors are way too expensive for the DPS they deal. The primary commander is useless in the demo, I agree (This will hopefully change in the final version). He needs a ranged weapon IMO.

You have to make use of their speed, DE are like NOD in Command and Conquer. Hit and run. Scourges can rape gens and barracks in no-time. But they have to fly away when the enemy approaches. Dark Eldar won't last long in direct shootouts, you have to use them properly and they will become very powerfull.
